Friday Freaky Fatwa-Push Non Muslims aside

I came across this fatwa on a popular Islamic website. There are many strange, funny, awful, bizarre or socially unacceptable fatwa's. Last week I went with a funny one, the visual was just too much. This week I chose one that I find socially unacceptable. But you decide.

Muslims will say that Muhammad was known for his great manners. I plan on blogging about that, but this is an example of his manners and how the so called Islamic scholars advise Muslims. I did shorten it as he is long winded. But other than the lousy message to all Muslims reading this crap, I want you to notice that his fatwa is based on Hadith-- NOT Quran. This nutcase is one of the reasons that Muslims know more about Hadith than Quran...and explains some of the bad behaviour we see everyday.

"Ruling on initiating the greeting of salaam with Jews and Christians, and how to push them to the narrowest part of the road"

A Muslim asked this scholar the following question;

According to a Hadith the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“Do not initiate the greeting of salaam with the Jews and Christians, and if you meet one of them on the road then let him go to the narrowest part of it.”(Muslim, al-Salaam, 2167). Doesn’t doing this put people off entering Islam?

And this is the Islamic scholars answer

Praise be to Allah.

According to a Hadith narrated by Imam Muslim in his Saheeh from Abu Hurria, the Messenger of Allah said: “Do not initiate the greeting of salaam with the Jews and Christians, and if you meet one of them on the road then let him go to the narrowest part of it.” (Muslim, al-Salaam, 2167).

What it means is that just as you do not initiate the greeting of salaam, you should not make room for them. If they meet a group of you, do not split up to let them pass, rather continue on your way and leave them the narrow space if there is a narrow part of the road. This Hadith is not meant to put people off Islam, rather it is a manifestation of the Muslim’s pride and a sign that he does not humiliate himself for anyone except his Lord.

Majmoo’ Fataawa wa Rasaa’il al-Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthyameen, part 3, p. 38

Offensive, isn't it?

Muslims living in Non Muslim lands I want you to pay attention to Az Zaqqum Islamic scholar to the Infidel. If you start demanding special rights on sidewalks you're going to experience a proud moment of humiliation as your ass ends up in the middle of the street.  Salam.
