What is the ruling on a woman hating polygomy because of jealousy, since jealousy is something natural in women, and we read of the jealousy of ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) concerning the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)? So where do we stand? I have learned from reading some books that hating one of the rulings of sharee’ah is tantamount to kufr.
And the scholar replied
Praise be to Allaah.
A woman’s jealousy concerning her husband is something that is innate and natural, and you cannot tell a woman, “Do not feel jealous over your husband.” If a person dislikes something even though it is prescribed in sharee’ah, that does not adversely affect him, so long as he does not hate the fact that it is prescribed.
Interesting that he uses the word he because I don't think he could handle his wife having more than one husband. He is jealous by nature and would dislike sharing his wife. It's a good thing his god is a he.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
2:216 “Jihaad (holy fighting in Allaah’s Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you…”
Interesting how they are using this verse to tell a woman who hates polygamy that it's a jihaad-holy fighting in Allah's Cause. Does this mean she can kill him?
The woman who feels jealous does not hate the fact that Allaah has allowed her husband to marry more than one woman, but she hates to have a co-wife.
Why Allah would create women with innate and natural jealousy, then force her to like something she doesn't?..like her husband.
There is an obvious difference between the two matters. Hence I hope that the brother who has asked this question, and other people, will think carefully about matters and not rush to judgement; I hope that that they will recognize the subtle differences whereby rulings differ.
The only thing obvious here is that the scholar is a male and letting the wrong body part guide his opinion.
*Before the time of Muhammad there wasn't a limit on how many women a man could marry.
An interesting hadith
Shaykh al-Islam [Ibn Taymiyah – may Allaah have mercy on him] was asked whether it is permissible for a soldier to wear silk or gold or silver when fighting or when the envoys of the enemy come to the Muslims.
He replied:
Praise be to Allaah. With regard to wearing silk in order to frighten the enemy, there are two scholarly views, the more correct of which is that it is allowed.
Based on this Hadith
The soldiers of Syria wrote to ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab saying: “When we met the enemy we saw that they had covered their weapons with silk and we found that this struck terror in our hearts.”
That cracked me up
‘Umar wrote back to them saying: “You should cover your weapons as they do.”
So they could scare themselves...?
*Men are forbidden to wear silk, but it's ok if their sword wears silk...even if it strikes terror in their hearts?
So ‘Umar recruited us and appointed al-Nu’maan ibn Muqarrin to lead us. When we were in the land of the enemy, the representative of Chosroes came out to us with forty thousand troops. An interpreter stood up and said: “Let one of you speak to me.” Al-Mugheerah said: “Ask whatever you want.” He asked, “Who are you?” He (al-Mugheerah) said: “We are some people from among the Arabs.
We used to lead a harsh and miserable life, sucking on animal skins and date stones because of hunger, wearing clothes made of camel and goat hair, worshipping trees and rocks.
When I look at some areas of Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc, I have to wonder how much has changed. They still like their rocks and the hadiths of the talking, walking, crying trees, though I guess it's good that I still scare the hell out them.
So I included these...
4:75 “And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the Cause of Allah, and for those weak, ill-treated and oppressed among men, women, and children, whose cry is: “Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from You one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help”
And they called on America, England, Germany, Canada and other great western countries...and Sadaam is now gone but others remain.
8:60 “And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery) to threaten the enemy of God and your enemy”
Yeah, we kicked some Sadaam ass, now on to Bin Ladden and the taliban.
22:40 '...For had it not been that God checks one set of people by means of another, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, wherein the Name of God is mentioned much would surely, have been pulled down. ..'
I'd say it was a check mate
A Muslim asks a scholar
We have a shop selling auto parts. When we want to write the bill for the customer, we deduct part of the amount, but he asks us to write the original price on the bill, and he does that because the product is not for him. What is the ruling on that?
And the scholar replies
Praise be to Allaah.
If this involves deceit and cheating, it is not permissible under any circumstances. It is haraam (forbidden) for you to give him a bill stating more than the amount which he paid in order to take money from the state or any other body for this bill. This is deceit and cheating, and is not allowed. And Allah knows best
Hey! They got it right this time! Too bad they didn't know as much about the Quran as they know about Hadith, otherwise they could have quoted one of the many verses that say don't lie!
A Muslim asks a scholar
THERE ARE PEOPLE I KNOW WHO WORK IN ENGLAND IN A RESTAURANT AND ARE PAYED VERY WELL, BUT WHAT THEY DO IS THEY TELL THE AUTHORITY THAT THEY ARE PAYED LESS SO THAT THEY CAN RECEIVE EXTRA MONEY. THE GOVERNMENT HELPS THOSE WHO ARE ON LOW INCOME. IS THIS HALAL FOR THEM TO LIE AND GET THIS EXTRA MONEY? WHEN ASKED THEY REPLY THAT THE TAX IS QUITE HIGH IN THIS COUNTRY. BUT DOES IT MEAN YOU CAN LIE AND GET EXTRA? PLEASE EXPLAIN.IF IT IS WRONG THEN THE MONEY IS HARAM? THE DUA IS NOT ACCEPTED? HAJ IS NOT ACCEPTED? PLEASE CAN YOU EXPLAIN. THANK YOU.
Well that sucks
And the scholar replies
Praise be to Allaah.
It is not permissible to tell lies; doing so is haraam (forbidden).
Money which he has taken on this basis is also haraam (forbidden) and he has no right to it. With regard to his du’aa’ (prayer), the fact that he is consuming haraam wealth may be a reason why his du’aa’ is not being accepted, because of the hadeeth,
What? Another hadith? Why can't these scholars quote the Quran?
“Then he mentioned a man who had been travelling for a long time and was dishevelled and dusty; he stretches out his hands towards the heavens and says, ‘O Lord, O Lord’, but his food is haraam, his drink is haraam, his clothing is haraam. He is nourished by haraam, so how can his du’aa’ be accepted?”
With regard to his Hajj, the poet said:
“If you go for Hajj with money whose origin is haraam,
You will not have made Hajj, but the camels will have.”
That was a lousy poem...So the camels will have all their sins forgiven? Hmm...how do you know when a camel sins?
And Allaah knows best.
If that were true they would have quoted the Quran
One question that I am often asked is why hasn't Islam (as practiced in the Mid East areas) changed in over 1400 years? My answer..
How many countries have progressed under the fear and terror that is brought on by religious rule?
These so called scholars studied Islam with fear coloured glasses. They seldom quote Quran as the Quran would disagree with them, as I've shown so many times. But they might as well give it up. The fear factor is wearing itself out. It's almost impossible to rule people using religious fear if they live in the west. Ask Glen Beck.
I'm sure there will always be humans who believe the sky is falling. But I'm equally sure that there will always be even more humans who will hold the sky up for them. Many will be Muslim as many of them know first hand what it is like to live under the fear and terror that is brought on by religious rule.
4:145 The hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire: no helper wilt thou find for them
Nope, not even Bukhari will help. He'll be waiting in line for bitter fruit.
37;62 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum
