Friday's Freaky Fatwa...follow or imitate?

Follow the Prophet or Imitate the Prophet?
According to the Quran, Muhammad was just a messenger; his job was to deliver the message, like a pizza and split.

Nowhere in the Quran does it tell Muslims to copy everything Muhammad or his companions did, especially the companions as they were part of what Allah called, the worst of the worst. So this topic is really for Muslims.

If you know one, pass this on. I’m just trying to help them stay clear of the hellfire. As the Az Zaqqum, the bitter tree from hell, it’s my job to feed them and I’m not going to have enough fruit, so help a tree out... Pass it on.

Muhammad told his companions not to copy him, not to write down Hadiths and not to make stuff up. Muhammad knew if they copied him he would become an idol. To idolize any of the Messengers would be shirk and that would not work out well for Allah.

But with so many Muslim scholars, it's all about...Monkey see, monkey do.

A Muslim asks a scholar;

Can men wear Silver or gold jewelry like rings, chains etc?

And the scholar replies….

With regard to wearing chains, this is not permissible for men, because this is an imitation of women, and there is no report which says that it is permissible for men to wear chains made of silver. With regard to men wearing rings of silver: this is permissible and there is nothing wrong with it. But wearing gold is strictly forbidden.

This fatwa is based on the following Hadith

Narrated Ibn 'Umar; The Prophet wore a gold ring and then the people followed him and wore gold rings too. Then the Prophet said, "I had this golden ring made for myself! He then threw it away and said, "I shall never put it on." There upon the people also threw their rings away.
So then….
Narrated Abu Huraira; The Prophet forbade the wearing of a gold ring.
And then….
Narrated Anas; The ring of the Prophet was of silver, and its stone was of silver too.
But….
Narrated Anas bin Malik; Said that he saw a silver ring on the hand of Allah's Apostle for one day only. Then the people had silver rings made for themselves and wore it. On that, Allah's Apostle threw away their rings as well.
The message--- don’t do everything Muhammad did!

And then there is this Hadith

Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Once the Prophet wrote a letter or had an idea of writing a letter. The Prophet was told that they rulers would not read letters unless they were sealed. So the Prophet got a silver ring made with "Muhammad Allah's Apostle" engraved on it.
That finally fixed the problem, at least with rings. They still had other issues.

For the record, the Quran does not forbid wearing gold or silver or even chains.

Next Fatwa

A Muslim asks a scholar;

What is the ruling on drinking whilst standing? I have read some hadith which say that it is forbidden to drink whilst standing. Does this mean that drinking whilst standing is prohibited?

And the scholar replied

Praise be to Allaah.
There are Hadith which say that the Prophet forbade drinking whilst standing
But there are other Hadith which say that the Prophet drank whilst standing.
The scholars reconciled this by stating that the forbidding mentioned here does not mean that it is haraam (forbidden), rather it is to be understood as advice, and that it is better to drink whilst sitting.

The basic ruling is that one should drink whilst sitting, which is better, but one may drink whilst standing. The Prophet did both to demonstrate that there is a lot of room for maneuver in this matter.

The correct view is that the forbidding mentioned in them is to be understood as meaning that it is disliked. The fact that the Prophet drank whilst standing indicates that it is permissible to do so. This is all that needs to be said on the matter.

And here’s your Hadith.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas;
The Prophet drank zam-zam water while standing.
….are you sure?

Puke if you drink standing up;
Sahih Moslem Abu Hurayra said, the messenger of God said, "Do not drink while standing up, if someone forgot and did it, he should vomit what he drank."
Drinking can be complicated, but so can crossing your legs

Do not cross you leg;
Moslem Gaber Ibn Abdullah said, "The messenger of God forbids a man from crossing one leg over the other while lying down on his back”

Cross you leg;
Moslem Ebada Ibn Tameem said , his father said that he saw the messenger of God lying down on his back in the mosque while crossing his legs."

It’s hard being a Muslim! Here is a fatwa on how to pee.

A Muslim asks a scholar;

Is it haraam to urinate standing up? What is the Sharia ruling regarding standing while urinating?

And the scholar replies;

It is not forbidden for a man to urinate standing up, but it is Sunnah (Hadith) for him to urinate sitting down
because
Hanbel. "The Prophet never urinated in a standing position."
and
Aiesha said: “Whoever tells you that the Prophet used to urinate standing up, do not believe him. He only ever used to urinate sitting down.”
But
al-Bukhaari and Muslim narrated from Hudhayfah that the Prophet came to a garden belonging to some people, and urinated standing up.
Oh Muhammad, not in the garden!

The scholars said;
There is no contradiction between this and the Hadith of Aiesha because it is possible that the Prophet did that because he was in a place where he was unable to sit down, or he did that to show the people that it is not forbidden.
Seriously?

This started new Rules for going to the toilet but that’s for another blog…or read my Ebook.

And then we have this fatwa.
.
A Muslim asked a scholar;

What is the age at which a baby boy’s urine must be washed off Is there a difference between boys and girls?.

And the scholar replies;

Praise be to Allah
Hadith narrated from ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib said that the Messenger of Allaah said concerning the urine of an infant boy: “Sprinkle the urine of a boy and wash the urine of a girl.”

This Hadith indicates that there is a difference between the urine of boys and girls. In the case of boys’ urine it is sufficient to sprinkle it, but the urine of a girl must be washed.

Some scholars have tried to come up with the reason for that. Some of them said: the reason for that is that it is easier, because usually the male is carried a lot, and people rejoice over him and love him more than the female, and his urine comes out from a narrow opening, so when he urinates it spreads. Because he is carried a lot and washing his urine would be too difficult, so this concession was made.
I’ve just issued a fatwa against those who come up with stupid fatwas.

I know the Non Muslims are wondering who comes up with this stupid stuff? Especially when there are so many other problems that Muslims are facing today.

The Prophet said;
Follow me as long as I live. But I advise you to stick to the book of God after I have died. Consider the things it commands you as Halal (allowed) and the things it forbids you as Haram (forbidden).

Why not follow that Hadith?
Quran 31:6: But, there are among men those who patronize ridiculous Hadith without knowledge thereby misleading men from the Path of Allah and throwing a butt of mockery on the Path: for such there will be a humiliating Penalty."
But, none of that mattered.

Pakistan LAHORE, PAKISTAN -- Police in Pakistan's province of Punjab have launched an investigation into reports that Muslim extremists killed a Christian for refusing to convert to Christianity. Rasheed Masih, 36, was allegedly murdered on March 9 by six Muslims with at least one axe in Punjab's Khanewal district. Local Christians said the suspects are rival merchants who objected to Masih's potato business and his devotion to Christianity.

The Quran says there is No compulsion in religion…unless there’s a potato involved

And this….
Female suicide bombers are being fitted with exploding breast implants which are almost impossible to detect. The shocking new al-Qaeda tactic involves radical doctors inserting the explosives in women's breasts during plastic surgery making them virtually impossible to detect by the usual airport scanning machines.

I’m waiting for a fatwa on that
